The Truckercise Team

Joe Martin’s Truckin

Joe Martin, 63, had his first taste of truck driving in New York where his Dad was foreman of a milk company. The elder Martin taught young Joe how to drive around the parking lot in an old Mack Thermo dyne truck. Upon joining the Air Force and stationed in Texas, Joe drove everything with wheels, except an airplane. After being discharged from the Air Force Joe drove, Flatbeds, Box, Tanker, doubles, triples, etc. on and off for many years logging somewhere around 4.5 million miles. Joe Martin has many driving awards and continues to drive today.

Twenty years ago Joe came up with the idea that certain exercises could be done right in the truck. The air ride seat and the steering wheel with their many adjustments made it much easier to do these various exercises hence “Truckercise” was born. On a side note 20 years ago there weren’t many trucks with adjustable steering wheels but, when they did come into play that made exercising better. Joe has been “Truckercising” for twenty years and it makes him more alert and physically fit, with less stress. Sitting in that seat for 11 hours a day can become quite stressful.

Truckercise Is Proud To Announce “Mary K. Stiefer”
as the “New Truckercise Girl!”

Mary is from Texas and a veteran trucker of 25 years. Mary is currently doing local work in Houston, Texas pulling 28 ft, 53 ft and at times two 28 ft. trailers. Mary states, “My Daddy was a trucker for over 40 years and he got me hooked though I did not realize it till years later.” Mary feels that her driving experience is minimal compared to others and says she is still learning. We here at Truckercise know better. She is a professional. Mary starts her day at 4:30 in the morning with a cup of coffee and then off to the old treadmill. After the old treadmill Mary does a power walk of up to 2 miles per morning. Mary tries to eat well and stay committed to her routine of exercising. Her hobbies include hunting, fishing, horse back riding, and bicycle riding. Mary says, “Truckercise” the DVD is a good way to help stay in shape if you are an over the road driver. It might seem a little different at first but trust me it works! You ladies over the road just try it you will be surprised how much better you will feel!
Good Luck, SEE YOU OUT THERE!
